Every time we scroll through social media, watch a video, or search for something online, algorithms learn what keeps our attention. Before long, our feeds become filled with the topics, opinions, creators, and trends we're most likely to engage with. Do you think algorithms are simply helping us find what we like, or are they slowly influencing what we believe is worth paying attention to?

Yes that’s how the algorithm works. It brings more contents based on what you spend time on, what you like and comment on.

Based on that you see more contents from the same accounts or related accounts.

I do have to agree that algorithms are slowly deciding what we believe is interesting, and they have been doing so for a long time.

Most sites such as TikTok and YouTube tend to take what you interact with, either in terms of watching, liking or sharing, and then show you similar videos, as they believe that is what you would be interested in.

In most cases, the algorithm gets it right, but I have had instances when it has also been very wrong.
